On 20 August the Chairman of the Museum,
Lieutenant-General Sir Christopher Wallace, and
the Museum staff hosted a visit to the Museum by
the Right Worshipful Mayor of Winchester,
Councillor Richard Izard, and an accompanying
group of mayors and their consorts from
Hampshire & the Isle of Wight. Arriving in a
double-decker bus, the group were briefed on
arrival by the Chairman and then toured the
Museum’s displays. In all, the mayors spent
nearly two hours at the Museum, clearly
indicating on their departure that they had been
both impressed by, and enjoyed, their visit.
