SUPPORTING US
The Royal Green Jackets Museum is a charity and
very dependent on the support of individuals,
companies, trusts and public bodies to sustain a
programme of continuous improvement of the
Museum and its collections.
There are a number of ways in which you can help
us.
- By volunteering to spend some of your time
working with us
- By donating money to the Museum
- By becoming a Friend of the Museum
- By gifting items to the Museum collection
- By gifting unwanted items to the Museum for
sale
- By leaving a legacy to the Museum in your
will
VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering to work for the Museum can be
hugely educational and rewarding. It offers the
chance to meet and mix with others, and need not
be demanding.
Volunteers may spend as little or as much time
working for the Museum as they wish – from a few
hours a month to five days a week.
Opportunities exist for volunteers:
- To work in the archives as a researcher
and/or look after the archives and library
- To document and care for the Museum’s
objects, especially the silver collection
- To be a Museum attendant, welcoming
visitors and acting as a guide
If you have other skills which you think may
be of use to the Museum – for example,
marketing, design, library, textile
conservation, IT – please do not hesitate to
tell us.
Volunteers are not usually paid, although
there are occasional opportunities to take
on part-time work as a museum attendant at
weekends and bank holidays. Depending upon
the nature and frequency of work, volunteers
may be reimbursed some or all of their
travelling costs.
To offer your services as a volunteer or
