below will help you. If you are
planning to visit Winchester, you should
include a visit to our Museum.
The average length of a visit to the Museum is
from one to two hours. 25% of our visitors spend
longer.
Visitors of all ages, especially
children, are welcome.

HOW TO FIND US
The Museum is easy to find adjacent to the Great
Hall and within 100 metres of the High Street
and the West Gate. The Guildhall, the Cathedral
and the mainline railway station are all within
10 minutes’ walking distance.

OPENING HOURS
The Museum is open: Monday to Saturday 10 a.m.
to 5 p.m. (Last entry 4.15 p.m.)
Sundays The Museum is closed on Sundays and also over
Christmas and the New Year.

ADMISSION CHARGES
Adults £3 per person
Senior Citizens £2 per person
Children/Students £1.50 per person
Family groups £6 per group
Serving
Service personnel and Friends of the Museum are
admitted free.
Members of The Royal Green Jackets Regimental
Association are admitted half price.
GROUP VISITS INCLUDING SCHOOL CHILDREN'S
VISITS
Special terms, including group concessions, are
available, on request, for group visits,
including school children’s visits, involving 10
or more persons. With sufficient advance notice,
conducted tours may be arranged at a cost of £25
per hour.

Teachers seeking to organise school visits in
support of the National Curriculum are
encouraged to make use of the tailored school
children’s visit programmes offered collectively
by Winchester’s Military Museums. For more

FACILITIES
The Museum has a shop and lavatories. The Museum
is also able to offer facilities for corporate
hospitality – for example, receptions for up to
50 people and lunches/dinners for up to 30

The Museum occupies two floors with a stair lift
between floors. There is also a
lavatory for disabled visitors.
CAR PARKING
There is limited free car parking on site for
visitors to Winchester’s Military Museums only.
Please follow the signs and/or ask the Museum
staff for advice on where to park. |
