RECORD VISITOR NUMBERS

There were 13,367 recorded visits to the Museum in 2011, an increase of 24% on 2010 and the highest number since accurate counting was introduced in 1999. The principal reason for such a substantial increase was the success of the ‘WI in Hampshire in Peace and War’ exhibition which took place in summer 2011.  Fewer visitors – 12,000 - are anticipated in 2012 due to the counter-attractions of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the European Football Championships and the 2012 Olympics.
